On Wednesday 24 October, Ethan Spibey give a talk at Regent's as part of the LGBT+ Society's speaker series.
Ethan founded and runs the Freedom to Donate campaign and Intercomms, and is an advisor to the Albert Kennedy Trust. His Freedom to Donate campaign changed legislation making a positive impact on the restrictions on giving blood.
Along with telling us all about the work he does in his various roles, Ethan spoke about his time at university, outlining the challenges the LGBT+ community face upon graduating and entering the job market, and that 62% go back into the closet at this time. Ethan put forward the message that if you believe in something and are passionate about it then anyone can bring about change and make a difference.
It was a very successful evening, and just the start of what we hope will be an inspiring set of speakers that will be coming in over the academic year.
