There are two car parks at Regent’s Park Campus with a limited number of parking spaces. The Main Car Park is for visitors and students and is located alongside Oliver building.

Opening hours are 06L00 to 22:00 including weekends.

Acland Car Park is for staff only and is located between the library and Acland building.

Opening hours are 07:00 to 19:00, Monday to Friday.

Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) is in use throughout both car parks which read number plates automatically upon entering the car park and charges upon leaving the car park. Please note that the system cannot read number plates obscured or with non-standard lettering. In this case a ticket must be taken and this will be used to charge for parking.

Parking spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

On-street parking is available in the Inner Circle, opposite the campus, for a maximum four-hour period.

Motorbike parking is free of charge. The bays are located in the Main Car Park, outside Oliver by the rear of the kitchens.

Payment and rates

It is possible to pay at the exit barrier as well as the payment station near the exit of the car park. Cash payments are no longer accepted. If the payment machine is not working, please press the intercom to speak to an operator or contact the security office by the main entrance.

Parking in the Inner Circle must be paid for at the pay machines. Please note that the area is regularly patrolled by parking attendants.

There are daily capped rates which allow pre-registered users to pay less than the current public rates. Please ensure that you register your vehicle details here to take advantage of this. The university doesn’t accept responsibility for users having not registered their registration plates. No refunds will be offered.

Users are welcome to park over the weekends or evenings for a flat rate. No registration is required. Please note that overnight parking is allowed by prior arrangement only and will be charged at a flat rate.

Lost tickets

Lost tickets will be charged at the full daily rate of £60.

Dropping Off

There is a 30 minutes loading period allowed for no charge.

Dropping off passengers is by Main Entrance, outside Herringham building. This driveway immediately outside the Main Entrance is for dropping off and collection only, within a 5-minute time window. Vehicles should not be left unattended there. Drivers may be encouraged to move on by the Security team.

For those with a mobility impairment, Security Officers are on hand to assist with entering the building. They are aware of the possible need for a longer time to alight or enter vehicles and therefore drivers are treated accordingly. (There is a wheelchair lift within the Main Entrance to aid access.)

Accessible Parking

There are a few designated accessible parking spaces – two in Main Car Park close to Reid Hall, one by the main entrance near Herringham and one in Acland, adjacent to Acland building.

To take advantage of the lower capped rates, blue badge holders need to pre-register their vehicle details.
