In preparation for the new term, ITS is asking all staff and students to register for Multi-Factor Authentication, a technology to secure systems and data with more than just a password; using phone calls, SMS text messages, or mobile apps to provide an additional layer of security.
As part of this rollout, the Self-Service Password Reset portal and the Multi-Factor Authentication registration will be combined, making the process much smoother. This new combined method can be seen in this short video.
Existing users will be prompted to provide more information when they next login to a Microsoft 365 service and may need to provide a second method of authentication, otherwise you will have the option to skip the registration for up to 14 days until required.
All users will need to provide at least two methods of authentication. The 14 days starts the next time a user logs in. If you have any questions, please contact the Service Desk on 02074877479.
