Regent’s Student Union are proud to announce that we will now be recruiting for our first sabbatical president following approval from the Regent’s University London Trustees.

President of Regent’s University London Student Union is an elected office held by a Regent’s student to lead the student body and enhance the student experience. This office will ensure the Student Union’s student-led functions are operating to provide representational and enhancement activities for all Regent’s University London students. Upon election the president will also be a Student Trustee of Regent’s University London, custodian of the Student Union constitution and chair of the Student Union Executive Committee.

The president will report directly to students and will be line managed by the Pro Vice-Chancellor Student Experience. They will work closely with the Student Services and other employees and departments of the University.

The sabbatical president following elections will be employed under a standard contract of employment for University staff.

All full time students currently on study or those completing studies this academic year will be eligible to stand providing they have good academic standing and meet the terms and conditions. Those students who stand who have not completed studies will be given a break of studies in order meet the demands of this full time role.

As Sabbatical President, you would be:

  • Taking a year off from your studies and be a paid employee of Regent's University London.
  • Elected as a full-time officer of the Student Union for one term, lasting a year.
  • The official representative of the Student Union and responsible for the union as a whole.
  • Member of the Board of Trustees governing the university, and more.
  • The application period will open on Monday 27 March and the deadline for applications is midnight on Saturday 23 April 2017.
